I thought I’d talk about my favourite makeup brushes that I always reach for. I haven’t tried every brand going but I’m very content with my current collection and there’s no particular weak link that I feel needs to be replaced! They all serve their purpose extremely well 🙂
This is the best foundation/base brush ever! It’s so dense and soft which makes it perfect for buffing in foundation. I much prefer this to the Real Techniques Face Brush! This brush + the beauty blender = <3
I don’t generally like natural bristle brushes; I find synthetic ones perform much better. However, this one is really nice! It distributes blush beautifully and I have used it for bronzer on occasion.
Another Zoeva brush (FYI all of the Zoeva brushes mentioned are from the Rose Golden Brush Set £65). I think powder brushes are done well by lots of brands as they’re pretty simple in their design; they just need to be big and soft! This one by Zoeva does everything it needs to do, I use it to set my whole face with loose or pressed powder.
Highlighting Fan Brush from the Eco Tools Six Piece Day-To-Night Set £16.99
This brush is awesome for highlighting the cheekbones, nose, and chin! Much better than the other Morphe G23 fan brush I own. It does only appear to be sold in a set but the whole set is brilliant tbh so it’s well worth it.
The is a brilliant versatile little brush! I use it to set my under-eye concealer with powder however it’s a shape that could be used for so many other things, including highlighter.
The perfect crease brush! It’s soft and fluffy and just the right shape to get into the crease and blend, blend, blend!
I love this eyeshadow brush. It’s more expensive than I would like to spend but I was not disappointed with this one. It’s a fluffy but dense brush that I mainly use for applying lid colours and then blending out.
I use this for my eyebrows with my NYX eyebrow pomade and it is just perfect for that purpose! A really great shape that allows for precision but also is not stiff. It washes well and has retained its shape, unlike other wing liner brushes I have used.
Although its suggested use is in the name, I find this brush too big for blush. Instead, I used it for years as my face powder brush before I had the Zoeva one and since then I’ve found it perfect for bronzer! It’s soft and picks up just the right amount of product. Its size is ideal to warm up the face but not so big that it takes away all precision.
All of these brushes have been washed multiple times too and they’re all holding up really well! I’d definitely recommend getting a pretty set of Zoeva or Eco Tools brushes, they’re really great starter sets if you’re unsure where to start with brushes. There are so many out there it’s rather overwhelming! And it all depends on the type of makeup you use as to what brushes will work best for you.
